A small she-cat made her way over the hill and toward the border to ThunderClan, with every step her features became more pronounced. She was quite petite with deep russet red fur, her eyes were a soft amber and she was swift and graceful. But not all looked right with this she-cat, her bones were showing more prominently than the last time she had been here and her eyes were sallow in her head. She made her way to a clump of grass and fell down into it, glad of the rest.
No one could mistake that this was the WindClan leader, thin and exhausted but still with an air of dignity about her. She had been working as hard as she possibly could to keep her clan well fed and the strain was beginning to show on her. She barely had any energy left and she would kill for a warm night so at least her clan was not cold as well as hungry.
You shouldn't be doing this Emberstar, the thought revolved slowly and tauntingly around her head. For her, even falling in love was against the code...let alone a cat in another clan. But her life seemed so empty right now she honestly didn't care anymore; she would wait, wait for her Ashwind to find her.
The strong, handsome tom was all that had kept her going on the way here, StarClan knew how she was going to summon the strength to get back again but she'd find a way. She still had all her nine lives but at this rate she was going to work herself to death. She was cold, tired and insanely hungry. She put her head on her paws and closed her eyes, maybe she'd try and sleep until he got here.

A large, handsome gray tom sat in the shadows, hidden save his bright blue orbs, glowing unnaturally in the light. his gaze rested on a flaming she-cat, on the brink of the horizen. His fetures seemed to light up, but he kept still, tail lashing on the ground behind him. His long, white claws kneeded the ground around him, churning up the soil. The she-cat moved closer, like a leaf on the wind. A large young hare lay at his paws, and he smiled as she neared him.
Ashind moved only when he was postiave it was her. He stepped out of the shadows, hare limp in his jaws and a tiny stream of blood trickeling from it's mouth. He dropped it and walked to her turned back. "I thought you wouldn't come back." Even his voice was handsom. He smiled at her, wondering if she felt the same...

Emberstar opened one amber eye and gave a small smile, feeling a burst of warmth overtake her bony frame. She gave a small sigh and looked up at him, getting to her paws with great effort and rubbing her muzzle with his. She was leader and yet his scent was so comforting to her and she savoured it "Why would I not" she mewed into his fur softly, her voice sweet and kind, "I came as soon as I could"

He touched her gentily, his skin prickeling under his ashy pelt. She was so different that his leader...so...beautiful. His side brushed against her pelt and he realized her skin was handing over bone, and her bones jutted out horribly far. Giving her ear a quick lick, he turned and grabbed the young hare. It's eyes drooped open, glazed over and cold. "For you. A kind offering to Her Ledyship from a loly peeon as myself." He meowed, his eyes laughing but his mouth mock-seirous. There was something about Emberstar that made Ashind forget he was just a cat, and she was a leader. Something about her made him feel like her was walking on clouds, and his heart was on fire. He didn't want to close his eyes, he might miss soemthing. He didn't want to turn away, even for a second, it made his heart bleed.
And for the first time in his life, Ashind windered if her was in love.

Emberstar gave a deep purr and sat down on the grass, it saved her strength. Her russet pelt blew softly around her feet, mingling with the grass that was curled and brown after this moons terrible snow that had caused her clan such pain and sorrow.
She looked down at the hare "I shall take it to my Clan" she murmured "they need it and I can go without another meal" she smiled at him and gave a small purr to show her gratitude.
As she stared at him with her soft amber gaze she saw how his muscles rippled under his pelt as he moved, the way his blazing blue eyes seemed to dance when he smiled and how grey his coat really was, like the foggy morning or the clouds on a rainy day,
I think I'm in love

Ashind put a paw out, his strong muscels rippeling under her gray pelt. He rested it on the hare, and looked at her. "What is a clan, when it's leader is starving?" He meowed.
As he watched her, the flow of blood pumping in her veins, the beat of her heart against his, he knew. Somethings were ment to be, forbidden or not. The blaze of amber in her eyes, like a bruning of sap from a tree. Her pelt, so long and fluent, like embers after the hottest of fires. His blue eyes suddenly caught fire, as if he was looking at something much more than was he saw. They were blue fire, or white ice. What really is anything, other than what it is? Do we see what we really see, or what we want to see, when we want to see it?
I think I'm in love

"What is a clan, when it's leader is starving?"
Emberstar looked at him with soft amber eyes and saw his own orbs catch light, blue fire, a roaring inferno. Half of it scared her and the rest of her was drawn to it, the power within him made her feel safe. She nodded gently and lowered her head, taking a bite of the hare; surprisingly big at this time of year.
The juiced seeped through her mouth and she gave a little sigh as she ate more and more of the delicious fresh kill. Her stomach was not used to so much food and by the time she'd eaten her way through half of it she closed her eyes so full she knew so couldn't eat another bite. "Thank you" she mewed softly, getting back up and pushing her muzzle against his.

he brushed against her, his skin tingeling as he felt her heartbeat grow faster. "Your very welcome," He meowed, his blue eyes less firey now, and more soft and warm. He turned his gaze to his forest, and to her moor.
Two different worlds, but drawn together by the powers of...
love?

Emberstar felt a rush of warmth engulf her completly and she gave a small purr of happiness, her breath ruffling the small hairs on his ears. Her fiery pelt mingled with his smokey one and her eyes, amber like fire were temporarily away from his icey ones. They were so different in apperance yet so close in personality and she loved that about him...love, that was it. She felt so secure and safe with him, no...that was the same thing. Oh she didn't care! Her mind buzzed with pointless thought but one, important one stayed strong. "I love you" she murmured softly.

At first, those words startled Ashwind. He never expected this. Hardly did he expect it from a leader. And if you had told him three moons ago that he would be in love with the WindClan leader, he might have laughed at you. "I love you, too," He whispered, bending down to whisper in her ear. He gave her a soft lick on the neck, his tound rough and soft, all at once. His blue eyes blazed, but not angerily. He closed them, wiling them soft again but they continued to burn, like embers on a hot log...

Emberstar gave a small purr and licked his muzzle furiously then pushed her nose back into his long ashen fur. The ash and the embers, reminants of a fire and together as one. Her amber eyes glowed like the thing she was named after as he tail moved softly back and fourth under the now setting sun. She wasn't going to leave yet, the clan could do without her for a little while; she took a deep breath and savoured his scent again.

Ashwind never wanted this to end. he wished he could go on, walking on clouds with Emberstar forever. The chill of the setting sun's winds blew through his fur, and he broke away from Emebrstar, eyes looking at her with a mock-worry. He took four paced backwards, and started judging the space before him, leading to the WindClan she-cat...
His paw twished, and he smiled at Emberstar as he lept, nocking her over. He made himself light as he pounded into her, and sent the two tumbeling down the hill.

Emberstar gave a little shriek as he landed on her, she felt the soft ground give beneath her and she clung to him as the world spun around her whilst they tumbled down. Everything was a blur of colour and she tightened her grip so as not to break away. She carried on shrieking and laughing as they tumbled downward, every so often the dark grey of his pelt would obscure her view completly and it would make he laugh even more.

It seemed to last forever, or maybe two seconds. Really, Ashind did not know, nor did he want to know. His deep laughter rang out, mixing with her higher laughter. His eyes screwed tight and his face wrinkeled as the world flew by, an unreconizable dance of colors in his blue eyes.
A cold feeling his his pelt, weighing him and Emberstar down. It was only shallow enough to encase his back, though, and he found himself under Emberstar's body, which was not very wet at all. His gray pelt turned black with water, and his chest heaved with laughter as he gasped for breath. Breath that did not seem to come as he looked up into the eyes of Emberstar, her pelt fitting into his... He laughed and reached up, liking a small droplet off of her nose.

Emberstar gave a small purr, under her fur she could feel the warm water seeping through her russet red fur and flooding over her skin and instead of chilling her, it warmed her to the bone. Her amber eyes glowed softly as she licked a droplet of his nose with a rough purr. "You look like Sootpelt, not Ashwind" she purred softly, looking into the depths of his sparkling eyes.
If she could have seen herself now in her past she would have been furious, with Ashwind and herself. It wasn't right what they were doing and in the back of her mind, Emberstar knew it. She firmly pushed it away...hoping she'd soon forget her doubts. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with Ashwind, to have his kits and to look at the setting sun curled by one another for every day until they joined StarClan...and even then they'd still be together.
