Through the Shadows

Two cats stepped through the shadows and into the open moonlight. This was the border with RiverClan. They two stood upon a hill which looked down upon a flowing river. They glowed in the moonlight, pelts touching slightly as Pantherstar sat. "I come here alot, you know. At night, when no one can really stop me. The moon dosent care if I am a leader or even a kit." He meowed, head tipped to the night sky, speckled with the lost warriors of all the Clans, joined in the unity that was death itself.

Frostfur sat beside him, giving a shiver in the late night as the breeze traveled from the river and infiltrated her pelt. They looked like opposites under the nights sky; one whit pelt, one black; two amber eyes and two startling blue. Frostfur closed her icey eyes and nodded slowly. "But StarClan is always watching" she reminded him, "They prowl the velvet night as we walk the lands of RiverClan"

Pantherstar smiled. "Yes, I suppose your right," He said, sitting down next to the white she-cat. "It's a very clear night..." He said, looking over the water. In trugh he really couldn't think of anything to say. He wasn't that...social.

Frostfur nodded and smiled softly, she put her head slowly and tentitivley on his shoulder and gave a little sigh. Her tail twitched slightly and then she laid it back on the grass, her blue eyes reflecting the stars that twinkle above her.

"Come on," The small black tom led Frostfur down the hill. "Lets go for swim," He meowed, looking down into the moonlight river.

Frostfur followed him, the soft grass under her soft pink pads and the cool breeze carrying his scent back toward her. She could barely make out Pantherstar in the blackness, she could see where he'd got his name from, but every so often she'd see the flash of his yellow eyes and she'd run a little closer to him. Soon she was walking shoulder to shoulder with her, barely able to keep the smile off her face.

As they reached the cool, clear water Pantherstar breathed in the night air. Leaf-bare air was like no other air. It was crisp and cool; he could really breath at this time. His strong shoulderblades rose and fell rythmicly. He stopped at the waters edge. "You first?" He meowed.

Frostfur smiled and nodded, she slipped into the water and gave a small gasp as the cold water penertrated through her fur to her skin. But soon she warmed up and swam circles, keeping her body warming, her blue eyes a sorce of light.

Pantherstar gave an amused smile. Quickly, as if in a blured vision, he bunched his muscels and dove into the cold waters, finding it much easier to cope with the coldness of this water. "Nice, Hmm?" He said with a smirk.

"mm" Frostfur mewed, knowing he was teasing her for her reaction earlier, the water was quite nice now, it flowed about her like dark slik and made her feel all tingly.

Pantherstar laughed and brown the surface, his strong paws churning in the waters. His yellow eyes looked much to obious in the night, not blending in at all with the black water and the dark of night.

Frostfur looked over at him, only seeing his piercing yellow eyes. She knew she would be visable because of her white pelt. She swam over to where the yellow eyes were and found sh was right next to him. Their pelts touching and mingling in the cold water, complete opposites, black and white.

Pantherstar purred and held this breath in a gasp of night air. He swam under the water, the surface still dispite his wake. He looked at Frostfur's body, and it looked white as the Moonstone, beautiful as ever.

Frostfur spun round trying to find him, then she realised he was actually underwater and a small smile lit up her soft creamy white face. She dived under, everything slightly fuzzy until her blue eyes got used to it, se saw the yellow eyes and met them with her own piercing icey gaze.

Pantherstar smiled, eyes wide underwater as they always were. He found himself on the surface again, and bent under the water to lick the top of Frostfur's head. [/size]
