She frowned. "There is this place, no one is ever allowed to talk about it. So if you ever tell anyone, you might..." She couldn't bring herself to say the word. The thought of this small, innosent apprentice...dying...She couldn't even think of it. "Were not the only ones alive, you know. And I don't mean Prey..." Hollybranch found this extreemly hard to explain. She started to walk towards the Tunnels as she talked. "There is a place above ours. I don't mean SunClan. Other Cats live above us. I have to show you to let you know, I guess." She meowed, continuing to walk.

Gentlepaw had stopped. "Then don't tell me!" she hissed. "If you got in trouble to try to tell me something like this..." she shook her head. "I don't want my new family to get taken away either..." she mewed shyly.

I'm not going anywhere, Gentlepaw. She said. where could I go, anyway? She knew that all anished cats were hunted down by the Cla Leader and killed ASAP for knowing too much. But she was different, as was her apprentice. She was allowed to know this information. She saw Icewolf laying by the enterance, or maybe the exit, to the Tunnels. Hello, Icewolf. She meowed. The white she-cat lifter her head to see her medicine cat and apprenice walking along towards the tunnels. She smiled, ears suddenly pricked and alert. Iceowlf guessed what might be going on now. Hello, Hollybranch, Gentlepaw. I was just leaving... She winked at the cat she had come so close to when she first came into the land lacking a sun. She smiled and bounded off to hunt somwhere else.
She continued her tale. Many, many moons ago, we lived in a place so filled with light, it burnt out pelts and shone in our eyes. The light came from a source called the sun, which we now call upon as our god. She was looking at the tunnel's enterance. She took a step forward, and pawed away a large bracken bush. "go in, it's alright. She meowed to the younger cat.

Gentle-
Gentlepaw blinked at Icewolf. Then she pictured it, the light everywhere...she realized how much that would hurt her clans eyes now...they were so good at seeing in the dark, but the sun's bright light would burn their over-sensative eyes. "You mean like SunClan?" she asked, making her way into the tunnel, not really sure what to expect.

Hollybranch took a second to think this question over. She looked at Gentlepaw. "Kind of, dear. And living under the Sun are four Clans like ours. They are called ThunderClan, who live in the forest. ShadowClan, who live in the Swamp. WindClan, who live on a moor, which is a large expance of open land, and no trees. She walked silently through the tunnels, knowing her way from moons and moons of going to the surface to get Catmint. "And RiverClan, who live next to the river like ours. Now, they do fight, but not often. She wondered what her apprentice might think of this next part. "Many, many moons ago, we lived up there, before those other Cats came in. They came in, a huge group of cats and drove us out. Our leader then, Earthstar, peldged that he would leave, saying we would much, much closer than they might think. He knew of the Under Ground Forest, as it was called then." She chuckled at this. "So we came to live here, and started to worship the Sun in remberance of our past life above the Earth."
They were nearing the Tunnel's exit now. "Its going to be very bright for you, Gentlepaw, but don't be afaraid." She meowed calmly.

Gentlepaw blinked through the familiar darkness, and it was a second before she replied. "I'm not afraid...I've been here before..." she mewed. "Not that I would remember..."
Although that was true she felt safe here...like she knew where she was. She felt like she knew where she was going. Already she could taste strange scents. Suddenly the tunnel sloped upward.
She blinked confused, staring upward, then waited for her mentor. Her eyes narrowed she began to think of the clans as Hollybranch described...she pictured all those cats gathered and then a bold and noble tom striding away, his head held high, despite his limp. He was obviously in pain. She pictured him, with his clan already safely away, whipping around on top of a huge hill, hissing words down at them. "We may be leaving but I swear we will be close...and when the time comes...my clan will return here!"
Suddenly she was jolted out of her fantasy. Then she turned to Hollybranch. "Which one?" she asked suddenly. "Which Clan do you think I came from?"

Hollybranch had not had to think about this for a long time before she knew the sent of the cat. "You were from ThunderClan. You smelt like the forest and the trees and the sun and prey. The sent of ThunderClan." She said simply. The sun was getting close. She heaved herself up nimble and waited, her white and tabby pale glowing brightly in the warm light. She hung her head over. "Are you OK to come up on your own, Gentlepaw?" She said with a sigh of happyness in her voice. She loved the warm sun...it felt so nice...

Gentlepaw jumped up after her mentor. "Well..." She jumped up. "I'm going to have to come up eventually."
Suddenly she burst into light, and her eyes narrowed in protest. Her fur felt warm suddenly. Slowly, her eyes adjusted and she forced them open. "Wow..." Green, green, and more green. She blinked around, shocked. Scents came rushing at her, a strange gust blew against her fur. A huge yellow orb glistened in the sky. She blinked around. "So this is..."
She trailed of as she gazed around the alien world. Suddenly in a rush she felt it was familiar. She gasped, her eyes closing as she felt a sensation of falling. "I fell down that hole..." she said, as the feeling subsided. "It was not fun."

I sup=spect it was not. But your home is down there now, no matter what you might find up here. She meowed sadly, knowing how irristable the upper world could be. She herself had almost been pulled into it's grasp...once many, many moons ago...A mouse moved in the bushes. Crouch down now...and catch that mouse... She meowed with a smile and a bat at her apprenitces ear.
