The world beyond where her eyes looked, still unfocused Silentpaw's eyes. It was nearly impossible to see where she was going. She didn't notice the rock that she seemed to have found her way to as she walked sullenly towards the kit. She tripped, eyes still as emotionless as always. Even if she did possess a voice, she wouldn't have screamed; she hardly noticed this fall, she always fell due to her lack of attention to the world, she was in another world. This world was her mind, the only place she could speak, or sing, or yowl. The only thing she lacked in her mind was someone to understand. Of course there was the mysterious voice that only once came through her mouth, but that voice wasn't one who lingered to listen to her fears, her depressions, or her feelings. She didn't bother getting up, she rolled to her side, and layed her head there, staring forward, into nothing.

Although frozen numb, Dragonpaw felt the vibrations of Silentpaw`s body hitting the ground. They were faint but, her heartbeat reached him too. Slow, and unsure they were. His own body, felt a tingle of warmth to his numbness. He was still in his own world, looking through the sound proof glass that succumbed him. He did not move. He was locked to her eyes, thinking of something else, somewhere else.
Dragonpaw concentrated on nothing. His eyes were on Silentpaw, but at the same time, not. In his head, he felt a jitter. ' Maybe this is another effect of the lab..' He whispered in his mind. His brain started beating. It seemed to match the pulses of the ground. His eye twitched. Suddenly, he felt a rush of relief. He felt different. He felt open. What had happened?
Dragonpaw heard a small voice. It was female. Dragonpaw shut his mind off and sank into his world for a moment. It went away. He clawed his way back out. There it was. In his head. He wondered who it could be. He could tell no one else heard it. He had had a similar experience with a blind alley cat he had met...
He whispered aloud, " Hey," He beckoned softly to Silentpaw, " Think something." His words were a bit slurred because he could not hear them. He was wondering if this was the same. Was it something about Handicapped cats? Could he communicate with this cat as he could the blind one? Or was he just crazy?

Silentpaw seemed not to hear him, but being a cat whocould only confide in herself in things, she was speaking inwardly anyways. Her eyes showed emotion as she thought to herself. This is how it has always been. This is how it will always be. she whispered in a voice so helpless, this was her voice, not the reassuring adult voice that would very rarely swoop in and try to reassure her. She closed her eyes, holding back the tears of desperation. It was over before it began. her voice spoke, delicate, yet full of desperation. Who will hear me scream if I bleed to death? Who will hear me scream if I am murdered? No one. Thats the answer. No one will be there to even comfort me on my way to where ever I go. I'm alone. she spoke, her voice faltering a bit. Without warmth, or even the comfort of my own beating heart. I'm different than everyone, I lack the warmth, the heart beat, and the voice of others. she whispered, she lay on the ground, hopeless.

Dragonpaw opened his mind and pushed his awareness toward her. The quiet, lonely, and vulnerable voice whispered in his head. 'This is how it has always been. This is how it will always be.' It said. Dragonpaw could tell by the she cat`s facial expressions that it was coming from her. Her voice was so.. so beautiful, almost melodic. 'Who will hear me scream if I bleed to death? Who will hear me scream if I am murdered? No one. Thats the answer. No one will be there to even comfort me on my way to where ever I go. I'm alone.' She /spoke/ again. He thought out to her, when she was finished, ' You will not... ever. I lack the awareness of others... the communication also. I will not ever again listen to the song birds in the morning. I am something that other cats call incoherent, cut off from the outside.' He took a mental deep breath, ' I was born in a lab... I know things no other could know of what you call a two leg. Horrible is it not? Your silent pleas make me ache. Yet, I do not pity... Pity is for someone with no self respect. I can sense you..you have a glimmer of hope.. Deep down.' He hoped it worked, hoped she could hear him.

She gasped outload, but it lacked the voice that others had when they gasped. Her eyes glistened with fright, someone else was speaking to her through her mind. It was not the adult female cat, for this was a male voice, younger than the adult cat. Her head lifted, then it fell again. I hope this isn't my halluciations to make me feel better again. she growled to herself, deciding she would speak back. Hello, I'm very sorry to hear of your harsh past. I was born like this, and I was born alone. I grew up on a diet of herbs. I don't know my mother or father, the medicine cat was the closest thing I had to a mother, but he was a male, and he wasn't the sweetest in the world. she paused. I hope you can hear me... no one else can. She shook her head slightly, the hope that had sparked dimming again. She was so sure that this was only her mind, or one of StarClan's twisted ways to make her feel better. She sighed inwardly, her mouth not moving in reality.

Well, the two looked comfortable with each other. Or perhaps not. The intense look they both had.....The way they stared at each other.....It looked like they were having some kind of...communication?
Well, the two were suited for each other. Both of them were....invalid?
Not exactly the word he was searching for, but it was close enough.
Either way, this was too...sacred. Too sacred for him to interrupt. There was nothing more he could do here.
With an inward shrug, Whisperfall padded after Lavanderkit, keeping his pawsteps silent as possible.

Dragonpaw, who was not as bad as Silentpaw in being cut-off and in a world of his/her own, clawed his way fully out of his hole. He lay down, his piercing green/blue eyes stared, still blankly into her eyes. Slowly, a look of thoughtfulness came to his eyes. He listened in on Silentpaw. Not a 'sound' was heard in his mind. With a look of displeasure, he disappeared back into his hole.
Now, sunk back into his own mind, he heard her! Was it is imagination? No, it was more real than anything he had ever heard. Once the she-cat was finished 'speaking,' Dragonpaw felt a shimmer of hope coming from her 'voice'. He 'spoke' slowly, 'Yes, 'mam. I can hear you just fine. You don't have to be alone. We are the same in many ways, umm.. So, what is your name? '

Silentpaw cocked her head inwardly, yet in reality she was laying completely still. She wanted to find out where this voice was coming from, yet her eyes were sightless. She listened to him speak, everything around her silent and still, and she thought about an answer. Alone... I have always been alone. My name is Silentpaw, and may I ask yours? Are you in this clan, are you in StarClan, if not, how are you speaking to me? Is that an unknown ability in all cats? She listened, looking around inwardly, which was useless if she actually wanted to find him. She broke away from her mind, and listend in on reality. She pushed herself to a sphynx position, and stared straight ahead, her golden eyes automatically locking to Dragonpaw's.

Dragonpaw returned her inwardly gesture and nodded. He listened to her beautiful voice. ' It is I Dragonpaw who is speaking to you.' He paused for a brief moment. He felt her eyes on his. His eyes glimmered for a moment. Then, he 'said', ' I am of ThunderClan.' He nodded his head. ' I can speak like this to cats who are sort of like me, lacking a sense. Yes, it is unknown to other cats and, I have not a very good clue of how to use it.' He finished, sitting up awkwardly. He felt a bit tired of using his mind so much. It drained him a bit. Just enough to make a difference.

Well, hello Dragonpaw. Your eyes are so unique, so beautiful.. Silentpaw said, pushing herslef up, wobbling slightly on her paws. She steadied herself, and walked closer to Dragonpaw. Do you want to do something? Hunt? Battle practice? she asked, a bit hopeful, her expression was that of a more relaxed cat, but there was still a hint of the glazed emotion. Her tail twitched a bit. This cat was so... different from the others, just like she was. He would make a fantastic friend, hopefully he wanted to be friends.

Dragonpaw came almost completely out of his daze. He stayed with just a toe dipped in so that he could communicate with Silentpaw. ' I must say you look mighty fine yourself, today Silentpaw.' his expression showed a bit of joke mixed in with pure friendliness. He looked at her fondly. ' We could go for a walk..' He stood up, wishing he could hear the prey that he normally hunted. It would make things so much easier. Though, would he still be able to communicate with Silentpaw?

She smiled kindly, and replied, That would be nice, I'll be your ears, if you'll be my voice? it was a question, it would be nice to be able to speak to other cats, but she found joy in having conversations with him, where no one else could listen in. She flicked her tail towards the entrance, and 'spoke,' We'll be safe in our lands, everything has been still. It may or may not have been clear to the other apprentice, but flashes of dark, shadowed cats flashed in her mind, cats attacking and killing her, and no one hearing her scream. She shut off her mind a bit, only being able to hear his voice in a whisper if he did speak, she wondered if she had the ability to shut off her mind, so he couldn't listen in, not that she needed to hide anything from him.

'That would be perfect.' Dragonpaw replied. He grinned at her and took off in a slow walk. ''Yes, it has been unusually boring and drab lately.' He replied. He noticed her coming out of her daze like he was. She kept the back part of her mind open like he did. It was perfect. He could still hear her and, she could only feel the things he wanted her to fell from him. He grinned for no absolute reason other than, pure happiness. ' Should we pick a destination or, shall we just wander around.' He said pleasantly, not caring which one they did. It was just delightful to have someone to listen to.

She heard his light whisper, and she shrugged. 'Lets just wing it!' she replied. She giggled lightly at his other comments, and began to trot out of camp, her tail swishing through the air. Her paws were light, and she was happy, maybe for the first time-- ever. Yes, she had felt a twitched of hope when Whisperfall and Lavenderkit, and a twinge of happiness, but ti had faded directly when Lavenderkit had left. She did noit think of this as she trotted happily out of camp.

Dragonpaw followed Silentpaw. He too swayed his tail a bit. He was truly happy. It showed in his paw steps and even his fur. Since when had another being made him this thrilled. He looked over. ' Sounds great! He replied. He looked up at the sky. The swirling pink clouds of dusk covered the sky. It was beautiful. ' Those clouds remind me of flowers. For some... reason. He chuckled inwardly. His laughter was filled with joy. Still, in the very back of his mind he thought of bad memories. Horrible things. Quickly, he shooed them away.
