Phantomsoul lured in the shadows of ShadowClan's marshy home. His ears instinctively pricked, and his senses alert. Scanning the territory, he tried to find some prey. His nose twitched and suddenly, he heard a lizard hurrying up a rock near by. Stalking up to it he swished his tail lightly back and forth. A heartbeat that seemed to last a lifetime passed before Phantomsoul had the perfect chance to catch the lizard. Lifting his paw in an awkward position so that his prey wasn't scared by the shadow, he slammed his paw down and killed the lizard. Picking it up, he noticed that it was a fair size, big enough to feed a warrior and apprentice. Purring at his catch, Phantomsoul buried it and hurried on to find some more prey. By sunhigh, the tomcat had cauht two mice, three lizards, and a squirrel. Getting ever last thing he caught, Phantomsoul began to pad home.

The scent of fresh-kill wafted through the air. Emeraldflame blinked, her tail flicking. An intruder perhaps? Or simply one of her Clanmates out on a hunting trip? It didn't matter. She was on her way back to camp anyway, after a patrol along the borders, with a scrawny mouse she had caught along the way.
Padding forward stealthily, swaying slightly to blend in with the shifting shadows, Emeraldflame steadily approached the cat, her fur prickling.
Ah. It was Phantomsoul. How silly of her. She let out a quiet, disappointed sigh. She had been hoping for a fight.
Retrieving her mouse, she bounded over to the other warrior.
"Hello." She meowed, her voice slightly muffled. "Good catch. Better than mine, at any rate."

Phantomsoul shifted his gaze to Emberflame. "Hello. And thank you." Phantomsoul mewed simply. He turned to face forward and kept walking. "You know, a better place to hunt is by those rocks." Phantomsoul meowed and pointed with his tail.

((Lol, Emeraldflame, not Emberflame. Although Emberflame's a good name. ^^))
"I know!" Emeraldflame snapped, the fur along her spin bristling. "I was patrolling the borders, and didn't see the need to make wide detours! I wasn't on a hunting patrol, you know!"
Well, she had caught another, even scrawnier, mouse. The black she-cat didn't see the need to carry it all the way back to camp. It was too scrawny to feed anything more than two kits. So she snapped it up.
Oh well. At least she was moderately full now.
Still, it didn't excuse Phantomsoul for thinking her an idiot. She was as pure ShadowClan as him; she knew where there was good hunting.

((Sorry <.< that was a genius mistake))
Phantomsoul didn't flinch when Emeraldflame snapped at him. He just shrugged and quickened his pace. Bending his head a little lower he realized how rude he was being. Sighing, he fell back in pace with the she-cat. "I shouldn't have said that. I know you know where good hunting places are." Phantomsoul's muffled mewed came.

Having have been dismissed from Shiverstar's den, Cloudpaw rooted through the undergrowth of the ShadowClan territories for Wild Garlic. She heard the sounds of cats a little away. The sun filtered through the canopy of leafy green trees above her, and the ground below her caved a little as she stood on her hind paws. Her front paws were up on a brown, fallen tree trunk, watching as Emeraldflame and Phantomsoul hunted. She snapped at him, and he seemed to flinch a little. He shouldn't cave like that. Frowning, Cloudpaw jumped gracefully over the fallen tree, and landed between the two. Hello. She meowed, stepping back so she could see both of the larger cats. I heard some angry voices ... anything i can help with?

Emeraldflame might be snappy, but she did know when to give way. She may enjoy fighting, but, well, not fighting with her Clanmates at least. So she simply meowed, "It's okay." Her fur flattened again, and she regarded him thoughtfully.
Which was exactly when Cloudpaw barged in. She may be a medicine cat apprentice, but she was still an apprentice all the same. She had no business here.
"No. Everything's settled now." Emeraldflame told her formally, trying to rein in her impatience.
Pesky critters, apprentices.

Cloudpaw frowned at the black she-cat. Are all black females this grumpy? Shes as strange as Shiverstar. She growled to herself, turning to Emeraldflame. The older cat didn't scare her, and she wasn't about to be walked over. Excuse me for trying to help. Theres no need to be rude. She meowed, flicking her tail and blinking at Emeraldflame.
They always thought they were so good, warriors. It got annoying sometimes.

Phantomsoul remained quiet and though he wanted to say something, he didn't. The tom just listened to Cloudpaw and Emeraldflame talk as they walked on.

"I wasn't rude!" Emeraldflame meowed, offended. "How can telling you 'No, everything's fine' be considered rude?" She demanded. Really, young cats these days. No respect for their elders. Not that Emeraldflame really was all that old, but, well....
She cursed inwardly. She had lost her train of thought yet again. It seemed to be happening more and more.
"Ah, yes, what are you doing out here anyway?" Emeraldflame asked, trying to steer the conversation back to safer territory. She liked fighting enemies. Not her Clanmates. Although kits, apprentices and elders were annoying as ticks most of the time.
Ah well. She liked Clan life. Sacrifices had to be made.

The older warrior was right. Maybe they shouldn't start a fight so early in the morning. I was looking for wild garlic, actually. Have you seen any? She meowed. She had never actually seen any wild garlic out here, but it smelled strong enough to knock out a fox. Besides ... Emeraldflame was right, she hadn't been that rude. But she had been rude, indeed ... whatever, though, Cloudpaw thought to herself.
