Candle-
Candle blinked, delighted that she understood. Candle blinked as she started to sing...then an idea struck him...if he could cough, sneeze, groan...why couldn't he hum? You see his probllem wasn't his vocal cords...it was his tounge...
Candle closed his eyes and focused on the rarely used vocal cords. Suddenly a voice was in his ear. He jumped, shocked then nodded. He made a chuckling sound. Mood swing?. Then he started to hum to her tune.
He stood up, still humming. Then he jumped into the corn stalks, smiling to himself as he hummed. He couldn't believe he hadn't thought of trying to before. Then suddenly he stopped, unsure if Ivy was following. He looked back at her...confusion on his face.

Ivy smiled and continued singing. He could make noises! That would make the sign laungage a whole lot easier. She stopped her song and looked at Candle,in a shocked sort of way as he began humming. He was full of surprises. She followed him happily into the corn stalks. She was beggining to think things were looking up.
She smiled and went on with her song. "Mr. Blue bird is on my shoulder! It's the truth! It's actual! Everything in satisfactual!" She smiled at him and hummed with him on the part of the song that was quiet. She was happy and careless.

Candle-
Candle suddenly stopped, his nose wrinkled in distaste...he knew he could smell better than her...so she couldn't smell the crows. He barred his tail in front of her.
Without waiting for her to ask he turned and veered left. These crows were huge...and many in number...and they were angry...Candle wasn't in the mood to fight so he wanted to aviod them completely.
Then another scent hit him...and he felt sick. They were eating something dead...more specificly a dead cat. He shuddered and made his way even further left. He didn't want to have to see that...

Ivy lurched to a swift halt as Candle stopped. She watched his distasteful expression. She figured out that something was wrong, putting complete trust in Candle, she turned and followed him. Her singing fell silent as she followed him quickly.
Suddenly she smelled cat too,a lot worse than that, dead cat. She sighed a sad pitiful sigh and continued on with many thoughts about it. She looked up at the clear blue sky. She was just getting happy and now this. She shoo her head, spitting at the ground as if it would help.

Candle-
Candle stopped once they were out of range of the cat. He could feel her happiness dying...and he hated that. With his eyes burning he turned to her. It is the way of life... he thought, sadly. It's no different than you or me catching a mouse or a vole...
He was surprised by the sudden burst of his own unhappiness. He didn't like her unhappy...it made him unhappy. He didn't understand...he was so confused...she shouldn't matter...shouldn't effect him like this.
He quickly hid his emotions from her...she couldn't see that burning passion behind those blue eyes. RiverClan, ThunderClan...enemies...yet why couldn't that change...the fact Ivy was here proved that it could.
He knew then that if RiverClan and ThunderClan fought...he could never raise a claw against her. He shook his head...clearing his thoughts. It was just so...comfortable...so natural...to be with her...and that confused him. He had never gotten along well with his own Clan...but here he was...getting along with ThunderClan...
Candlepaw and Featherpaw...Candle and Ivy... the latter sounded better to him...after all it had been their original names.

Ivy nodded as Candle's eyes burned a hole in her's. She swung her head low. She understood but, wished she didn't. She diverted her eyes. In the few hours that they had been together she had changed. She had changed from the hyper and bubbly Ivy to the now calm and understanding Ivy. This simple yet quiet cat had put a wonderful dent in her life by saying nothing. All with looks and motions.
That's what Ivy didn't understand. How she had no friends besides her siblings in her own clan, but she could make wonderful friends anywhere else. She gave a yawn, hiding her eyes and trying to hide her emotions. She looked up at Candle, pushing the brightness back into her eyes.

Candle-
Candle shook his head. Forced happiness...is not good...it's empty...it's not the same as pure happiness...most people can't tell the difference...I can...and trust me...it's not healthy to act happy...it's better to let real emotions show... he thought, knowing very well he was also hiding his.
He shook his head. Sorry...forget that...I have no right to think such things...
Candle blinked, at her silence and emotions. Then he thought relucatanly. Do you want to go back?

Ivy's head still hung low. She recognized the hurt and confusion in Candle's eyes. She shook her head and kept trudging on. She finally looked up and saw him, asking if she wanted to go back. She gave him a disguisted look.
"No, What? Are you crazy!?" (OUT OF MUSE!)

Candle-
Candle raised his eyebrow up in question. I'm pretty sure I'm sane...but are you? he thought. Then a small chuckling sound came out of his throat and he kept walking.
Just let me know when you want to go back... He thought, glancing back at her, then he vanished into the corn.
((sry it's short...i'm half-asleep right now))

"Yes, I am sane!" Ivy said with a small snap. She was slowly getting happier as they wondered futher away from the decaying cat. "I don't want to go back untill we have the book." She said with attitude.
She looked at the never ending corn. It bothered her a lot.

Candle-
Candle blinked at her. It does end... he thought. But it'll take time... He glanced up at the setting sun. We'll have to stop soon... he thought. He weaved through the corn, then suddenly feeling energetic, crouched down low, so that she couldn't see him.
((no muse...-_-))

Ivy smiled as Candle started up a game. Ivy looked around for Candle and hrtled right over him, thinking he had run away in a direction. She started running as fast as she could. All of a sudden, Ivy heard a rumble of ground. It sounded like the over turn of earth.
Scrreeeech,Whooosh,boom boom.
Ivy froze in fear as, not 20 fox lengths away, a jumbo monster was chugging along. She stood frozen. She urged herself to move as she stared at what humans would call a corn picker, rumbled toward her. Her eyes were huge in alarm.

Candle-
Candle blinked, scenting the monster before he heard it, his eyes went wild and he bounded upward, only to find that Ivy had already gone ahead of him.
He instantly panicked and followed the scent. Soon he found her...and the machine. He instantly pounced on her, then rolled them both away from the machine, into the shorter cropped corn stalks.
He shot her a glance, but kept his entire body low. We can't let the Twoleg see us! he tried to tell her. He body was stiff and his eyes wild. Stay down!

Ivy felt herself being bowled over. She let out a small 'umph.' She gave Candle a look of greatfulness and stayed crouched down. Her consious became guilty as she took pleasure in his touch. He looked at the monster. It made no choice to stop or come thier way.
Ivy turned around and slinked slowly in the opposite direction of the monster. She didn't want to stay anywhere near it. She sighed, letting out her long held breath. She looked back at candle and twitched her tail, a signal to go.

Candle followed Ivy then suddenly froze as the corn stopped...it wasn't supposed to stop...not yet. His eyes narrowed with confusion.
There were two Twoleg bulidings. It's a farm... he realized, making his way towards the smaller of the two buildings. Then he stiffened and shot back to Ivy.
There are dogs...we have to stay quiet and downwind...otherwise they'll be out here in a second. He also guessed there were about five Twolegs.
As he thought a young male Twoleg and a dog came out of the barn. He saw the dog stiffening as it caught it scent, then the Twoleg called and the dog darted after it. He glanced at Ivy. Which way? he asked her, not caring which way she wanted to go.
