Ivy's nose flared as she scented the dog. She flicked her tail. She could understand Candle in a way. She flicked her tail and went back into the corn about three foxlengths. She went east of where the dog was,to the north. She figured that they could go around. "Do you think you were a little bit younger when you first made the trip through here? So, it took longer." It had taken all day.But it hadn't taken a night. She looked at the sky. The sun was gone but the sky was a light purple.

Candle snorted. Of course I was younger...I wasn't even six moons... he thought, locking his gaze with hers. Candle the sighed and glanced up at the dying sun. That barn didn't used to be there...so it's been awhile...
The very first stars of the Silverpelt were begining to shine down upon the two young apprentices. Are you watching us? If so is it with distain or with curiousity? he asked them silently.
He walked a bit away from the barn then began to circle. Then he sat down. We should stop...we don't want to get lost in Twoleg territory...especially at night... He gently lay himself within the corn stalks. He sniffed the air. Rain... he thought, instantly smelling the moisture.
He blinked then suddenly jumped upward, toward the cornstalks. They sagged under his weight, and after awhile, they created a roof...no cat was going to get wet to night...at least while they were with Candle. He grinned at Ivy then vanished into the corn.
When he returned he had three field mice and a quail in his jaws. He dragged them under the shelter, flicking with his tail for her to follow. As he did so, the first drop fo rain landed on his nose.

Ivy nodded. She saw Candle enter the corn and signaling that i was time to turn in. Ivy followed Candle into the stalks. He jumped up into the cornstalks and made them bend down. She looked up at the sky one last time and entered the small tent. She circled around a few times.
Ivy's eyes hinted amusement. She stepped out of the tent while Candle disappeared into the field. He stepped over to a stalk of corn a stripped quite a few leaves off of the plant and carried them into the tent. Sh lay them down and spread them. She had made bedding. She sat down and laughed as Candle came back carrying a load full of prey.

Candle smiled at her, setting the prey down, pushing it toward her, his eyes alight. They obviously said, you pick. He sat there waiting, trying to predict her reaction. Then suddenly he yawned. He blinked at the sound, amused with himself. He made his laughing sound, as he wondered if he could burp. No need to try that out around Ivy.
His tail started to twitch, like it usually did. Every pale cream fur on his body seemed to be electrified. He could feel the energy coursing through him. It took him awhile to realize it was Ivy. You know this is dangerous...right?

Ivy nosed a fat mouse over to her. She wasn't much of a bird eater as she shared the trees with them. 'Awww,' Ivy thought. ' He is so cute when he does that giggle.' She looked at him with a longing look. She wished that this could be right. She wished they could be in the same clan.
Ivy nodded. She dug into her mouse, a sullen look on her maw. As she bit into it, something brown and smelly squirted out of the mouse and over at Candle. Ivy laughed aloud, uncomfortable feeling gone.
